Mission Statement
The Czesław Miłosz Polish School, established in September 2005 on the anniversary of the death of the distinguished poet and Nobel Prize in Literature laureate Czesław Miłosz, is dedicated to fostering the Polish language and culture among children and youth of the Polish diaspora. Rooted in a tradition of academic excellence and cultural enrichment, the school’s primary mission is to provide rigorous instruction in the Polish language, history, and geography, while deepening students’ understanding and appreciation of Poland’s rich cultural heritage and traditions.
Operating on Friday afternoons and Saturdays, the school offers a comprehensive educational program that includes not only core academic subjects but also optional religious instruction and a variety of cultural and artistic activities. Through these programs, the school seeks to reinforce students’ linguistic skills, strengthen their connection to Polish identity, and cultivate a sense of pride in their heritage.
Accredited by the Illinois State Board of Education, the Czesław Miłosz Polish School delivers a curriculum recognized for its quality and academic rigor; students may earn credits for Polish language study applicable toward their broader academic goals in American educational institutions.
As a vibrant educational community, the school engages qualified educators and offers students opportunities to excel in language, cultural, and artistic competitions, thereby preparing them to be confident ambassadors of Polish culture within the broader community.
